Within the works of modern Japanese oil painters Narashige Koide and Kaita Murayama, there is a world of clear distinction between, or even a blending of Eastern and Western styles. At this time, my theme works to convert sensual forms, the varied strokes of calligraphy, slippery black and "greasy" colors into contemporary paintings.
Changing the topic, several years ago upon seeing a work in a museum, I felt a strange sensation as if having encountered the dead. Myself included, I believe a skilled painter is one who can depict the form of an object's soul. That soul should remain until the painting's disappearance, even after the artist's death. I paint diligently in the hopes of producing even one such painting.
