The green signal means "proceed" while the red signal means "stop" - in writing, switching the two is simple. Well then, what happens when we interpret "yellow"? One might say, "Proceed with caution" or "Stop when possible" or "You should stop if at all possible, but can proceed if there is a car approaching from behind", but it is nonetheless become a troublesome sentence. It can't be helped because concepts require alterations depending on the context. The driver continues to make decisions in regards to these situations, which occur in ambiguous realms constantly subject to change.
