Recently, I create my works as an integration of nature, humankind and objects while contemplating the meaning of making objects by hand. The earthquake caused me to re-evaluate the existence of human beings and our relationship with nature, leading me to study in Singapore in 2012. I had been drawing tropical plants and primeval forests while traveling Southeast Asia, at which time I had a huge realization - that the circle of life continued on within that beautiful, dream-like world. Since returning to Japan I have expanded my practice from painting to wood carving and pottery in 2014. I wish to capture the living form of organisms by making integrative works, experiencing sensations of the material on my skin - from paint to soil and trees.
