"Osprey" is a photographic work of the aircraft on the same name deployed to Okinawa, constructed from one-yen coins. The coins - the cheapest in the Japanese economy - are likened to one pixel and are arranged so as to form an image like a digital photo. I want to question what makes it possible to define the existence of a community.
This work is part of a series in which the currency of a given country is used to assemble images of different communities, such as Australia, China, Taiwan and America.
