Artwork Statement:
My aim is to show the joy of living through fashion. I believe fashion design is meant to bring people happiness. The objects which embody such happiness are full of forgiveness and humour, and even if meaningless they grab the hearts of others. It's that spontaneity (nuke-kan) felt from these objects which I hold dear. The objects I present are not simply items of clothing - full consideration is paid to the space in making it an artwork. It is an extension of fashion, and not entirely within the framework of art. I believe I should be treading that line, experimenting and feeling things out. I see clothing and jewellery as one means through which I can express my world view.
The "stone bag" exhibited at 3331 Art Fair was recently presented at the NORIKONAKAZATO 2015 Fall-Winter Collection. The collection was designed with a theme of occult elegance, while this bag was made as golden nugget-embedded in rock, to be picked up and worn as is. There is also a film worked into the bag.
