When not managing an accounting firm in Tsukiji, Funayama can be found circling Tokyo's galleries routinely. His collection interests lie in the sculptural, 2D, and photographic works of currently active Japanese artists. As a collector, his eye gravitates towards works which convey a never-before-seen sense of oddity, works which propose new ideas to the context of art, and works which touch on themes of eros, human nature, life-and-death, and "the bottomless self". Also a member of the One Piece Club.
