Born 1961, Tokyo. After graduating from Hokkaido University of Education, Sato went on to study Sociology of Education and Sociolinguistics at Shinshu University. He also completed a painting course under Mokuma Kikuhata. He founded ASYL Design in 1998 and ASYL Crack in 2004. He has provided art direction and design for "WIRED JAPAN", "composite", "ART iT" and "DAZED & CONFUSED JAPAN" and headed curation/art direction for "Roppongi Crossing 2007: Future Beats in Japanese Cotemporary Art" (Mori Art Museum). He has won multiple awards at home and abroad. Recently, Sato has also taken to illustration and painting. Professor of Tama Art University. Lecturer at Bigakko.
