Established "on Sundays" in 1980. Began the Watari Museum of Contemporary Art in 1990 after establishing the art publishing company Isshi Press. Active abroad as the first Japanese staff member of documeta 9 in Germany and Japan Commissioner of the first Johannesburg Biennale. Co-authorship includes "China Art" and "From Vision to Nail" (Japanese). Voluteers for local urban development in the shopping areas of Aoyama Kila Street, Harajuku, and Jingumae.
