"Room" is the series that Akiyoshi has been working on since 2002 as his lifework. He simply depicts the interiors consisted of minimal lines and the composition of faces, by using only gold color in slightly different tone. The delicate manner of brushwork reminds us the Japanese lacquer. By reducing the elements of painting to the utmost limit, he examine the relationship of perspective and light."
