1973年京都生まれ。東京大学大学院美術史学専攻修士課程修了。地域や参加をテーマに、日本の現代美術や現代建築の展覧会、プロジェクトを企画する。主な企画に、妹島和世＋西沢立衛／SANAA、アトリエ・ワン、島袋道浩、坂野充学、越後正志などの個展、「金沢アートプラットホーム2008」、「3.11以後の建築」などのグループ展。第57回ヴェネチア・ビエンナーレ日本館キュレーターとして岩崎貴宏の個展を企画。

Meruro Washida was born in Kyoto in 1973, and graduated with an MA in Art History from Tokyo University. Taking up themes such as, “community” and “participation,” Washida curates exhibitions of contemporary Japanese art and architecture, as well as other projects. His major projects have included solo-exhibitions of Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa / SANAA, Atelier Bow-Wow, Shimabuku, Mitsunori Sakano and Masashi Echigo; as well as group exhibitions such as, Kanazawa Art Platform 2008 and Architecture since 3.11. Washida also served as the Japan Pavilion Curator in the 57th Venice Biennale 2017.
