測度空間urbsのための考察Study of Measure Space -urbs

電車から景色を見ていたら水平垂直に増殖した街の線がモニター上のグリッドのように見えた。じっと見ていたら街の建物の集合が視界に充満して奥行き感を遮断した。写真を撮って風景と印刷紙自体を同時に見ようとしても気まぐれにどちらかしか見えない。同一面上にある画像空間と画材空間、見ることと見えることの測度空間を観察している。
While I was looking at the view from the window of the train, the horizontal and vertical lines that extended outwards, crisscrossing the cityscape, started to look like grids on a monitor. As I stared, the cluster of buildings stretched and screened my view, blocking the sense of depth. It is futile to try to see both the scenery and the photographic print after you have taken a photo, because each one can be seen in a capricious manner, but not simultaneously. I have always been conscious of the “measure space”, observing its existence between the image space and the material space – between seeing and being seen.

岩竹理恵は、普段見慣れている物や具体的な現象を観察し、その本来の機能とは離れてそれらが持つ意味や特性やメカニズムを日常的な素材を使いシンプルな技術で平面作品に落とし込み、抽象化させます。これまで医学書や切手などの断片を組み合わせたコラージュ、写真、版画などの手法で、視覚的に時間と空間の複数の階層を行き来する世界観を捉え、観るものに新たな視点や思考、気付きを与えてきました。本展示では、作品を通してわたしたちの日常的な風景を切り取り、2次元と3次元との間で彷徨う視覚が生み出す空間の観察、計測を試みていきます。
