In combining the contemporary daily materials around us with the traditional handcraft technique such as dying and weaving, I am examining to create a new art form.The everyday objects and industrial products have designed with the particular ”application” and “purpose”. When I am making my work, in touching these objects, I look closer in reconsidering their shapes.

Building upon his study of textiles and dyeing, Satoshi Kunimasa produces work using everyday objects and mass-produced products such as clamping bands and pegs. He focuses on the fact that crafts essentially relate to the culture and thoughts of a land and, through the appropriation of their techniques and his sensitive viewpoint, seems to explore an ecosystem or cycle of both people and objects.
