「1985年生まれ。インペリアル・カレッジ・ロンドン数学科および情報工学科を卒業後、英国王立芸術学院(RCA)デザイン・インタラクションズ専攻修士課程を修了。在学中より、テクノロジーによって変化していく人間の在り方や社会を反映させた映像インスタレーション作品を制作。2013年よりマサチューセッツ工科大学 (MIT) メディアラボ 助教に就任し Design Fiction Group を率いた。現在は東京藝術大学デザイン科准教授。」
「Born in 1985,Sputniko! is a Japanese/British artist based in Tokyo. Sputniko! is known for her film and multi-media installation works which explore the social and ethical implications of emerging technologies. Sputniko! is currently an Associate Professor at the Tokyo University of Arts. From 2013 to 2017,Sputniko! was an Assistant Professor at the MIT Media Lab,where she founded and directed the Design Fiction group. 」

「西澤知美は、「現代の美容のあり方」をテーマに作品を制作。 現代の美容は、医療と密接な関係にあり、日々絶えず身体表面を加工し、また肌そのものを構築していく存在と捉えている。より滑らかな肌へと2次元化していく肌表面の内側と外側の差異を掘り下げ、自他との境界を考察し、自己とは何かを追求し展開させる。 主な展示作品として、化粧道具と医療器具を融合させ、メイク室を手術室へと変化させた「Natural Make Up」というインスタレーション作品。 ビューラーと鉗子を融合させた巨大な彫刻作品がある。」
「Tomomi Nishizawa creates works along the theme of “how beauty exists in the contemporary era”. Today’s beauty lies in its close relationship to medical treatment, as it exists in the daily constant act of processing the body’s surface, and even building skin itself. Nishizawa explores and develops ideas on the meaning of the “self" by delving into the difference between the inner and outer side of the skin’s surface as it is smoothened to become two-dimensional. Major exhibited artworks include the installation “Natural Make Up”, in which make up tools and medical equipment are fused to transform a make up room into an operating room. She has also created a giant sculpture of an eyelash curler fused with forceps. 」
