Room_412は2017年9月に、音響機材の倉庫として使われていた雑居ビルの一室をギャラリースペースとして設立しました。渋谷というロケーションの持つファッショナブルなイメージとは無関係に、身体性、空間性、時間、距離感、先進性といったキーワードの下、絵画、造形、映像、インスタレーションなどの領域で先進的・実験的な表現を実践しているアーティストの選定・紹介を行っていきます。全ての企画は同様に、商業的な価値よりも、アーティストの表現をじっくりと見せていくことに重点を置いています。また、アカデミックな芸術教育の範疇外からも、優れた表現者を積極的に発掘していきます。

Room_412 was established in September 2017 using a room in a multi-purpose building that was once used as a warehouse. We find and introduce artists who are practicing advanced and experimental expressions in the fields of painting, modeling, video, installation, etc., regardless of the age of the artist. The Shibuya area is more oriented towards fashion and commercial design than fine art, but without being influenced by this trend, the exhibition in Room_412 emphasizes the following elements. “Physical sensation expressed in the work”, “Expansion of space”, “Expansion of time sense”, “Objectivity of work”, “Experimental expression”, etc. All projects are equally emphasizing the artist's expression, rather than the commercial value. In addition, we will actively introduce artists who practice excellent expression without receiving academic education.
