Koutarou Ushijima focuses on words. He is a creator who weaves word-based stories and pre-linguistic tales. He tells them using things collected in daily life and objects of attachment, and combines words stitched together with his own hands. These stories do not really have an introduction, development, turn, and conclusion, but are just placed in front of us, as if thrown there. While therein we do not find overwhelming emotion or lessons useful for life, there is an unquestionable empathy towards people living their ephemeral lives.
