ギャラリー門馬は、旭が丘という札幌市の中でも自然豊かで閑静な住宅地にある現代美術を中心とした企画ギャラリーです。先代のギャラリー創設者である門馬よ宇子が自宅を改装し、札幌から新たな文化の創造と発信、さらに芸術文化を通じて多くの人々の交流の場になることを目的に2003年に開設した空間です。その後、開設からおよそ20年経ち建物の老朽化が進んだことから、従来の建物を解体し、札幌の建築家である赤坂真一郎の設計で2021年秋に装いも新たにオープンします。 新生したギャラリー門馬も従来と変わりなく先代の意志を引き継ぎつつ、さらに新たな試行錯誤を行い、現代美術を中心とした企画展示はもとより各国内アートフェアへの参加など幅広い創造性の発信を行っていきます。

Gallery Monma is an art gallery located in Asahigaoka, a quiet residential area with abundant nature in Sapporo, which mainly introduces contemporary art. With the aim of creating and transmitting a new culture from Sapporo, Yoko Monma renovated her home and founded the gallery in 2003. Since then, it has become a place for many people to interact through art and culture. Due to the aging of the building, the existing building will be demolished and a new building designed by Sapporo architect Shinichiro Akasaka will be completed in the fall of 2021. The reborn Gallery Monma will continue to carry on the will of its predecessor as before, while it will carry out new trial and error to disseminate a wide range of creativity, including participation in domestic art fairs as well as planned exhibitions centered on contemporary art.
