1960年代に「ジャックの会」をはじめとする前衛芸術運動の最前線で活躍し、その後70年代にニューヨークのカウンターカルチャーの只中で芸術思想を練り上げてきたアーティストです。
80年代に日本に帰国した当時は美術界との関係を一切絶っていましたが、近年になって再び絵画を制作するようになりました。
90歳を迎えた今もなお、群馬県赤城山麓に自らの手で建てたアトリエで、佐々木は精力的に絵筆をふるっています。

Kosei Sasaki is an artist that has pushed artistic thinking to a higher level, starting with his “Jack Gathering” held at the forefront of avant-garde 1960’s activity to being at the center of the New York counter culture scene during the 1970’s. Since returning to Japan during the 1980’s, Sasaki was uninvolved with the art world, yet in recent years he has began to paint again. While he welcomes his 90th year, he now paints works full of expression in his self-built atelier located in the Mount Akagi area of Gunma Prefecture.
