「今井さつきは鑑賞者が作品に関与することのできる「体験型」の作品を制作する作家である。 これまでに鑑賞者と共に巨大な海苔巻きをつくる体験を生む『人間ノリ巻き』や、鑑賞者の持ち物を美しい万華鏡に変換する『Raybox』、鑑賞者の個々の記憶を巡って作る花たちで空間を埋め尽くす『はじまりのだいち』等、今井の作品は常に「鑑賞者」と共にある。 自身の社会から受けるさまざまな問いから作品を制作・発表し、その問いを鑑賞者と共に共有する。鑑賞者や鑑賞者から生まれる、時に予想外の応答に驚きながらその瞬間を楽しんでいる。」
「Satsuki IMAI is an artist who creates "experiential work" in which audience can participate. "Human Sushi” which has created an experience of making a huge Sushi with an audience, “Raybox” which a kaleidoscope made by viewer's belongings into a beautiful kaleidoscope, “Beginning from our thinking"which fills the space with flowers made around the viewer's individual memories. Her works has experience with “audience" every time. She creates and presents works based on various questions she receives from society, and shares these questions with audience. She enjoy the moment in amazement at the sometimes unexpected responses from viewers and audience.」

今井さつきは来場者が参加することによって変容するインスタレーション作品を制作してきた。巨大な巻き寿司に好きな具材のクッションと一緒に来場者が巻かれる《人間ノリ巻き》、あり合わせの素材で思い思いの花をつくり植えていく《はじまりのだいち》など、これらの作品は実際に手で触れることができ、ほとんどの場合可能な限り今井本人が作品と共にその場に居続けることが特徴だろう。来場者の創作物で満たされていく作品の中でつくり手の存在が重層化していく様は、創作に対してアマチュアであり続けることを志向しながら学び続ける真摯な今井の態度が伺える。
Satsuki Imai has produced installation works that transform through the participation of visitors. She is known for works such as Human Sushi, where visitors are rolled into a giant sushi with cushions designed to look like their favorite ingredients, and A New Beginning, where visitors can combine various materials to make and plant their favorite flowers. What sets Imai apart is the fact that visitors are able to touch her works, and that in most cases, Imai herself will be present at the exhibit for as long as possible. Through the sight of her works gradually getting filled by the visitors' creations and multiple creators, we are able to see Imai's sincere attitude towards continuing to learn and staying true to her spirit of amateurism in her art.
