1989年東京生まれ。首都大学東京インダストリアルアートコース卒業。プロジェクトスクール@3331第一期修了。アートプロジェクトやオルタナティヴ・スペースをつくる実践を通し、日常生活でアートの思考や作品がいかに創造的な場を生み出せるかを模索している。社会的擁護下にある子供たちとアーティストを繋ぐ「dear Me」企画・制作。まちを学びの場に見立てる「ファンタジア！ファンタジア！─生き方がかたちになったまち─」ディレクター。喫茶野ざらし共同ディレクター、KAC Curatorial Research Program vol.01『逡巡のための風景』(2019,京都芸術センター)ゲストキュレーターなど。
Born 1989 in Tokyo, Akira Aoki graduated from Tokyo Metropolitan University with a degree in Industrial Art. He completed Project School at 3331 as part of its first graduating class. Experienced in realizing art projects and alternative spaces, Aoki constantly explores the potential for everyday artistic thinking and artworks themselves to give rise to creative spaces. He started up "dear me", a project that connects artists with children under social care. He also serves as Director of “Fantasia! Fantasia! : A community where lifestyles are made real” that makes the city a place for learning. Aoki is guest curator of KAC Curatorial Research Program vol.01 “Landscape for Wavering” (2019, Kyoto Art Center), as well as Co-director of Cafe Nozarashi.

今、創造の喜びや苦渋、そして名指すこともできない感情を通して、抗わなければならないものがある。それは声を上げることで。些細な工作を通じて。境界を越えることで。素材を変容させることで。自らの選択によってあらゆる状況を変化させることが求められている。 アートフェアという場で行われる「購入」は決して「所有」に還元されるものではなく、「未来へ向けた振る舞いへの加担」とも言えるだろう。「The Struggle for Tomorrow」は明日を共につくるための場所である。
"The Struggle for Tomorrow" Today, considering sentiments of creativity such as joy and bitterness that cannot even be named, there is something to be resisted. By raising a voice. By simple craft. By overcoming our environment. By transforming material. Creation calls upon the act of shifting all types of situations by making our own choices. The "buying" conducted through the space of an art fair is in no way simply reduced to possession. Instead, it could be said that it is the behavior that supports us looking towards the future. "The Struggle for Tomorrow" is a space made for us to build a tomorrow together.
